Vic: Rescuers to be nominated for bravery award
Two men who staged a dramatic rescue when a man was swept from rocks at a Victoriantourist attraction today are to be nominated for a bravery award.
The pair jumped into the sea and saved the 37-year-old who'd been swept into the oceanwhile watching a blowhole near Flinders, on the Mornington peninsula, about 1pm.
A woman on the shore then resuscitated him, until paramedics arrived.
The man who sustained head injuries and had swallowed a great deal of water, was thenairlifted to Melbourne's Alfred hospital.
A police spokesman says the rescuers will be nominated for a bravery award.
